The Contagious Infection - Are You Immunised?

A vision from the Lord (23rd May 2013)

During prayer today, the Lord showed me a picture of the common measles. Measles is one of the most contagious of all infectious viruses that often spreads with all that come into contact with the carrier of the illness. If you live in the same house as someone who has measles, you most likely will catch it. Before the sores begin to show, those members of the house are quite likely to have caught the illness – so it’s too late!

What does this mean, I asked the Lord. He showed me a picture of false teaching through the church. It spreads so quickly that before the pus sores are revealed, before the manifestation of the illness is made apparent, it has spread through and infected the church.

How does the Bible declare this truth?

2 Timothy 2:16 Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly. Their teaching will spread like gangrene.

What is godless chatter? Anything that is not of God – anything that is not the truth as outlined in the Bible. In other words, vain (worldly/godless) babblings of men, using popular (culturally acceptable) doctrines of men, instead of the Word of God.

Doctrines that pervert the Word of God in order to pollute truth to such a degree that those followers are deceived into believing in a false gospel and therefore receive a false Jesus (2 Corinthians 11:4).

What does the Bible say about the church during the last days?

2 Thessalonians 2:3

Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition.

What does falling away mean?

Apostasy – a rebellion against the truth and therefore against God and His ordinances.

Jesus is the truth (John 14:6) and so a follower in Christ cannot reject the truth – the Word.

My prayer is that those who belong to the Lord, their eyes will be opened to see what is going on around them.

Many will fail to see it, but they do not belong to Him (1 John 2:19).

I pray that you are one who is seeking truth. Ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes and if you really are seeking the truth, you will find it. The Bible says; Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7

Saying the sinner’s prayer does not make you a Christian anymore than a mouse being born in a biscuit tin will make him a biscuit.

The Bible says, “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9

The key words here are; ‘Believe with your heart.” Saying a prayer one day in church may make you part of the club, but unless there is a change of life that follows, it is not true repentance.

Faith without actions is dead (James 2:14-26). When you repent and become a true believer, your heart will cause your actions to change.

You will hate the things that you used to love (Romans 7:15), and you will desire to live a life according to God’s Word, even though you may miss the mark now and then.

Simply having the attitude that ‘we are forgiven of sins, past, present and future so it doesn’t matter if we miss the mark’, would require one to check their heart because grace does not give a licence to sin and if it is a licence we are looking for, then the question would beg as to why, when we have been set free from sin (Romans 6).

John 14:23

Jesus replied, "Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them".

Jesus spoke of those who did not really love God, but just had a form of religion.

Matthew 15:8

These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.

Did you notice He says, ‘honour me with their lips’ but not with their heart? Merely saying a sinner’s prayer and throwing around some Christian buzz words like ‘awesome’, does not make you a Christian, unless it’s truly with the heart.

This is how the Bible describes those people in the last days.

2 Timothy 3: 1-5

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.

The false teacher today talks about broadening the tent pegs and that, well, pretty much everybody is going to heaven.

Pope Francis just expressed this very same thing today by stating that Atheists who do good are redeemed. However, this is not what the Bible teaches.

What does the Bible say?

Ephesians 2:8-9

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.

AND

Matthew 7:13

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.

So, are you immunised? Friend, you may think church is just a fun, cool place to meet friends, rock to new tunes and get inspired, and whilst all those things may be good, if that’s all you have at the end of the day, my prayer is that you will truly seek the Lord with all your heart and get serious about Him.

Tic-toc, the time has come!
