The Church Experience Vs The Rock Concert Experience

The Church Experience

You walk into the venue. The bright lights and vogue architecture create a visually spectacular welcome. You just know that you are going to have a great time. You are greeted by a smile at the door and you make your way to your seat before the music starts. You experience the beat of the drums through the floor and the energy around you is thrilling – everyone is really into it.

Later, the man you greatly admire chats about a terrible, but hysterically funny situation that they had been through but now you see how they have become a better person for it. Then finally, they play your favourite song. You’ve laughed, you’ve cried and overall, you are really pleased you came.

At the conclusion, you have a coffee with friends and catch up about all the latest 'goss' that happened during the week before you head home. All in all, you had a fun time!

Are we ‘seeker sensitive’ or seeking Jesus?

Matthew 15:8

‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me’.
