Prophecy Fulfilled by Hip, Cool Christians - A Warning

‘Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.’

2 Timothy 3:12-13

Those who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus, those who contend for the faith, those who desire to walk the walk, will be persecuted and hated for His name's sake (Matthew 10:22).

In a day where evil people go from bad to worse, the one truth that remains is that Christians who desire to‘keep oneself unstained from the world’ James 1:27, and continue in what they have learned and have firmly believed (2 Tim 3:14) and refuse to compromise and water down their faith to avoid persecution, will suffer for His name's sake and will be the target of persecution from the world, and sadly from the worldly Christian church and those who participate in this kind of ungodliness.

So many within the church are trying to be cool and hip Christians, for they love the approval of men rather than the approval of God (John 12:43). Little do they know that they are indeed fulfilling prophecy themselves and will suffer the same demise as those they are trying to win the approval of (2 Thessalonians 2:10) if they do not truly repent.

1 Timothy 4:1

‘Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons’

2 Timothy 4:3

‘For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear.’

Jude 1:3-4

‘Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.’

Have you received a perverted grace that leads you to indulging in sensuality, (sensuality = the enjoyment, expression, or pursuit of physical pleasure) therefore, denying our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ?

2 Timothy 3:1-5

‘But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power.’

I pray that our precious Lord will open the eyes of the blind.
