Jesus Purchased You! Are You Just Giving Him the Spare Change?

True repentance is not Sunday Christianity with a few high fives followed by the words, “Awesome” and “Blessed” thrown in.

What about the rest of the week? Beloved, time is a treasure that will soon run out and the Bible tells us that where your treasure is, so will your heart be. If you spend your time on worldly gain, your heart will be for this world because your investment in it is so great. Invest in God’s Kingdom and the rewards will be eternal.

Everything else you do apart from what is of Him will be burnt up and destroyed!

As a Christian, we are called to serve God with our every action. In our relationships, with our finances, our thoughts, our sexuality, our desires – OUR EVERYTHING! We are to put aside the things of the old man and put on the new.

A good tree will grow good fruit. A bad tree cannot grow good fruit and a good tree cannot grow bad fruit. Faith and actions must go hand in hand. When you are a believer, then your actions will be in line with fruit in keeping with repentance.

BUT DON’T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT….

Colossians 3:1-8 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.

Matthew 6:19-24 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.“The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy,d your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness! “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
