Are You Ready to Preach the Truth?

Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ!

John 1:17

Friends, if you preach grace without truth, it is just a cheap import of the real thing. A false grace!

Love without truth, grace without truth, works without truth – is not the gospel, but a cheap ploy of Satan to lure people into playing church – but works built upon any other foundation other than Jesus, who is the truth, will not survive the testing fire that will reveal all (1 Corinthians 3:10-15).

THE POWER OF GOD THAT SAVES

‘For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.’ Romans 1:16

LET’S NOT DIMINISH THE POWER THAT SAVES BY PREACHING A WATERED-DOWN VERSION OF THE GOSPEL.

Jesus prepared His disciples for persecution they would suffer for preaching the truth and division even in their own family or circle (Matthew 10:34-36). He said that they would be hated for His name’s sake (Matthew 10:22, Mark 13:13), but they must carry on and preach the Good News.

My question to you is this… would you rather preach the truth to a few that will see true repentance and fruit thereof, risking a decline in numbers just as Jesus experienced (John 6:66), or would you rather preach a lukewarm gospel with human words and take the power away that sets men free?

God will accomplish His work with or without us. But for our sake, we need to think long and hard about our choices as ministers of the gospel – for we will be judged much more strictly (James 3:1, Galatians 1:8).

Let all of us take the great commission seriously, as if there were lives dependent upon it – because there are!

Let’s stop playing church and get real!
