I heard a saying last night, “a single twig breaks, but a bundle of twigs is strong.”
I think this is why the Lord put such an emphasis on loving one another. Those tender moments where we feel like we could break, we have the Holy Spirit who comforts us, and maybe a friend who calls out of the blue and says, “I was just thinking about you…” or maybe a message on Facebook that speaks straight to the heart – just when we need it.
Thank You Jesus, that because of You, I am not just a lonely, helpless twig. I am a twig in a body of twigs that strengthens me through unity – one body, one spirit – called to one hope!
Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up. Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; But how can one be warm alone? Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
I love the Lord!
