This is a faithful saying:
For if we died with Him,
We shall also live with Him. If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us. If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.
2 Timothy 2:11-13
The Lord knows those who are His!
2 Timothy 2:19
“The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
Paul used comparisons with soldiers, athletes and farmers who must discipline themselves to be willing to sacrifice in order to achieve the results they want.
Like soldiers, we have to give up worldly security and endure rigorous discipline.
Like athletes, we must train hard and follow the rules.
Like farmers, we must work extremely hard and be patient.
We keep going despite the suffering because of the thought of victory, the vision of winning and the hope of the harvest.
We will see that our suffering is worthwhile when we achieve our goal of glorifying God, winning people to Jesus and one day living eternally with Him.
2 Timothy 2:8
Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the dead according to my gospel.
Jesus was fully man (of the seed of David) and fully God (was raised from the dead). This truth is not easy to understand, but that does not make it untrue.
At the heart of false teaching is an incorrect view of Jesus!
2 Timothy 2:13
If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.
We may be faithless at times, but Jesus is faithful to His promise to be with us always, “even to the end of the age.” ( Matthew 28:20 )
2 Timothy 2:15
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
God will examine what kind of workers we have been for Him so we should build our lives on His Word and build His Word in our lives. It alone tells us how to live for Him and serve Him.
2 Timothy 2:19
Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
No matter how many people follow those who misrepresent God`s Word, the solid foundation of God`s truth never changes, is never shaken and will never fade.
When we follow God`s truth, we will live in God`s way.
