1 Samuel 12:20-24
Then Samuel said to the people, “Do not fear. You have done all this wickedness; yet do not turn aside from following the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart. And do not turn aside; for then you would go after empty things which cannot profit or deliver, for they are nothing. For the Lord will not forsake His people, for His great name’s sake, because it has pleased the Lord to make you His people. Moreover, as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you; but I will teach you the good and the right way. Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.
We may disagree with others, but we shouldn’t stop praying for them.
We learn from these verses, taken from a story in the Old Testament, that even when we sin, we are not to fear that there is no way back, for we are told here that even though the Israelites were wicked, they were not to turn aside from following the Lord.
Don`t let sin control you. Submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Sometimes we may think there is no way back to God. The devil would have us believe this lie. If we have come to know God's ways, we will realise that we are to acknowledge our sin, repent and turn back to God, the only One who can forgive us and help us move on.
Remember what God has done for you so that you may move ahead with gratitude.
We should always strive to serve the Lord with all our hearts and be aware of the devil's trick of trying to take our focus off of God and onto worthless things that cannot profit us or deliver us.
God will never leave us nor forsake us because it pleases Him to make us His people, the sheep of His pasture. Hallelujah!
When a beloved child of God strays from the truth, we are not to sin by refusing to pray for that one, but be an example to him by living the godly and right way and praying for this lost sheep in the hope that he will return to the lover of his soul - Christ Jesus!
Let's fear the Lord and serve Him in truth (His Word is truth ) with ALL our hearts, considering what great things He has done for us!
Praise His holy and majestic name!
