"For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
2 Corinthians 12:10 ESV
When a Christian matures in Christ, they realise more and more that they have little strength. They cannot act without being empowered by God. This is recognising the weakness of the flesh and acknolweding the strength and power of God Almighty.
The weakness that Paul refers to is not a physical weakness but of a spiritual type. We cannot overcome our own flesh and win our own battles. This does mean we allow our weaknesses to overcome us, however we will overcome our weaknesses with the power of the Holy Spirit.
When doing the right thing seems impossible, God provides us supernatural strength to make it possible. This is so that He gets the glory and so that we continue to rely on Him daily. Surely, when we are weak, we are truly strong.
To God be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
