For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this tent we groan, longing to put on our heavenly dwelling...
2 Corinthians 5:1-2 ESV
Rejoice Christian, for you are not of this world, but of Christ. If you have been truly redeemed by the blood of Jesus, then you have passed from death to life. No longer will you suffer the eternal wrath of God in sulfur and fire, but you are one who will enjoy eternal life in the presence of the Lamb and worshipping Him day and night. What a glorious thought to behold!
Christian, be encouraged for we need not and should not fear death. When the body falls into a permanent slumber, our spirit goes to be with our Beloved.
Let us not squirm or be anxious at the thought of going to our heavenly home. Let us not be too used to our earthly life and grasp it too tightly. Let us remember we are mere sojourners in this world. Let us look forward to behold His face and witness His unfathomable light and glory.
Amazing grace. Indeed, how sweet the sound that saved a wretched like me. Because of the work on the cross, death has lost its sting and Christ has brought me to His presence. Praise God forevermore!!
When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory." "O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?"
1 Corinthians 15:54-55 ESV
