"And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works..."
Hebrews 10:24 ESV
Christian, none of us walk in the faith alone. Surrounding yourselves with genuine bible-believing (and importantly bible-living) Christians becomes a great source of support, encouragement and companionship.
With a mutual objective to glorify Christ, it is important to adhere to today's verse by considering how to stir another to love and good works.
Even whilst the love of Christ burns within the heart of the Christian, not all good works or deeds are pleasing to all parties. Some deeds, although good, may be unpleasant for certain people which can cause a hesitation for a Christian to commit the deed. That is why Paul says:
"As for you, brothers, do not grow weary in doing good."
2 Thessalonian 3:13 ESV
The context (and good deed) of this verse was dissociating from a brother in Christ if he did not provide for his family so that he would understand he needs to. This deed, as you can imagine, is not easy and pleasant to necessarily do.
Another example of how one can grow weary of doing good is when a Christian is lead to rebuke another (where necessary). As we know, this can cause division and strife depending on each party's attitude and theological doctrines, however Christians should not grow weary of doing the right thing even if it is difficult.
Christian, regardless of whether our good deeds are difficult for our flesh to perform or not, let us encourage one another to continually show love and good works. Let us show Christ and His love in word and deed.
