"For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace."

There are some who interpret this verse as "it's okay to sin as much as you want because God's grace covers this, because you are not under the law, but under His grace".
The above interpretation is incorrect.
In context, the apostle Paul was referring to the fact that because Christians are a new creation in Christ Jesus, they are no longer bound and drawn to sin. Although Christians have a change of heart where they no longer desire to sin, they still have a choice to whether sin or live for Christ and please Him.
The prior verses urges the audience not to go back to sin, and gives reasons that Christians are those who have been brought from death to life. We should be presenting our bodies and actions to God as instruments of righteousness.
