And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.
Matthew 24:6-8 ESV
War is the last thing many people want. War, however, is inevitable since the bible predicts it.
Christians should not be dismayed or disheartened at the thought of war, famine and pestilences. The bible prophecies that these things will take place before the coming of our Lord.
The bible says "see that you are not alarmed." It is during these times where a Christian's faith will be tested.
Therefore, let us continue to press in the Lord and be ready in season and out of season. Let the thought of our King's return fill our hearts with hope and joy to endure these events. Let us take rest in God's sovereignty that He knows beginning to end and has all things under control. Let His perfect love cast out all fear. Let us continue to pray and read the Word daily. Let us stand firm in our faith whether we are in times of peace or war, abundance or famine, or even health or pestilence.
