"Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name's sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another."
Matthew 24:9-10 ESV
Hatred leading to martyrdom. Many saints have experienced this and many more shall still endure through this.
Every single day, this verse is coming to pass more and more. Mainly it is the western and some European and Asian countries where you can live physically safe as a Christian for the time being. However, many parts of this world have already conformed to this verse. As time goes on, the more and more of the world will be intolerable towards the Gospel and Christianity.
"In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world."
John 16:33b ESV
Christian, we need not to worry. Jesus Christ has overcome the world. God provides a peace that surpasses all natural understanding and is readily available even in the midst of such trials and circumstances (Philippians 4:7). There have been many stories in church history where those who are being martyred or persecuted sing praises to God, are calm and not fearful, pray for those that kill them, are peaceful etc.
Christian, if you are experiencing this where you reside, I would encourage you to continue to read your Bible and pray. Continue to rely on God's strength. If you are not experiencing this, praise God for it and pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ that are being persecuted for their faith, even unto death.
Let us be filled with hope as the more the signs of the end come to pass, the sooner our Lord returns.
