"And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?” "
Luke 18:7-8 ESV
Brethren, we must persist in prayer! In this parable, our Lord Jesus encourages the saints to persist in prayer. We are encouraged to petition to the Lord that He would make haste to deliver His saints.
Similarly, in Isaiah, God says a very similar thing regarding praying for the establishment and reputation of Jerusalem.
"On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have set watchmen; all the day and all the night they shall never be silent. You who put the Lord in remembrance, take no rest, and give him no rest until he establishes Jerusalem and makes it a praise in the earth."
Isaiah 62:6-7 ESV
We are to give God 'no rest'.
If one prays according to that which lines up with God's character and Word, they should continue to pray it continuously. Pray, pray and pray!
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? 11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!"
Matthew 7:7-11 ESV
Brethren, let us knock and continue to knock and knock some more. We are to persist in prayer. We are to wrestle in prayer like Jacob wrestled God.
Let our Lord see our spiritual clasped hands and scarred knees.
