"...but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night."
Psalms 1:2 ESV
2019!! It is often said that a new year has new beginnings.
Here, many will be looking to set new goals and resolutions. Some of these goals could be losing weight, quitting or starting a habit, trying to spend less on shopping, get promoted at work, to get married (or at least find a potential candidate) etc.
Did you notice how many of these goals were to do with self? Yes, all of them.
Quite often, every action we take can be about ourselves. Oh, how it should not be so! Let us remember in this new year that our lives revolve around Jesus Christ the Lord.
If we make commitments, let it be for the glory of God!!
In today's verse, the psalmist meditates on the Word of God day and night. It doesn't say only on some days but implies a continual keeping the bible in their thought processing every day. This can and should be applied to the entire year no matter what event comes up.
In the New Year, it may be tempting to think about yourself, but ask the Lord to help you to continue to set your mind on Him. May we never forget that we were created to glorify our Creator.
