"...whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
1 Corinthians 10:31 ESV
A misconception in modern Christianity is that our actions and decisions in life are made to further our desire or agenda. For example, the idea of 'I will come to God because He will make my life easier or take away my burdens' is false.
Whilst God does assist us in our own daily issues and take our burdens, those who make that their focus of Christianity have completely missed the point.
Christianity is not about yourself, it always revolves around and focuses on Jesus Christ. From a Christian's point of view, it is about giving glory to Him by living in obedience in accordance to His Word (the bible).
Our Lord, whilst on earth, demonstrated this beautifully in the garden of Gethsemane shortly before he was betrayed. Even in the midst of knowing what was to come, He said:
"...My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will."
Matthew 26:39 ESV
It is always good to remind ourselves that Christ is the King of kings and His will is what we should be seeking at all times, not our own. Every moment of every day should be lived for God alone to bring Him glory.
Reader, how do you see God? Is there any area of your life which you do not want God to take over? If so, repent and ask the Lord to help you in this.
