“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
We are of great value to God. We are His Creation and He wants us to succeed in our endeavour to serve Him.
We tend to worry about everything, but instead, we should be praising God for everything. God has promised to provide all those things He knows we need to live in this world.
He would have us to focus our attention on Him and not on our worries; what we should eat, what we should drink, what we should wear. Our life and body are worth more than food and clothing.
God draws attention to the birds, He says He takes care of them, then how much more will He take care of us, His children?
“So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
Think of how God takes care of the lilies of the field and arrays them with glory. And yet their lifespan is but for a moment. Have faith that God will take care of you too, even more so.
“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
He repeats and reminds us of the first verse we read, wanting us to get the point, but here He gives us a clue as to what to do to stop worrying about ourselves. Spend more time seeking God and His righteousness, and all those things you worried about will be added to you while you are busy concentrating on pleasing your heavenly Father!

3. Verse 27. Worrying is more harmful than helpful.
4. Verse 28-30. God does not ignore those who depend on Him.
5. Verse 33. Worrying shows a lack of faith in and understanding of God.
6. Verse 34. Living one day at a time keeps us from being consumed with worry.
