"So as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins."
A Christians, our lives should be displaying who Christ is through us.
By us walking out our life that is worthy of the Lord, living to always be pleasing Him and bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God, we are displaying who Christ is (even though it only displays God in such a small way).
When we increase our knowledge in God, He will increase our strength.
"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness."
It is so important that we give thanks to God!
So easily we can take things for granted, so easily we can forget to thank God for all that He has done for us.
Let's try to thank God every day.
Praise God for He has delivered us from darkness and into light. He has chosen us to be His children. What a precious gift that is - to know that we have been hand-picked to be His.
Praise God for we have redemption in His Son Jesus, the forgiver of our sins.
"Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever."
1 Chronicles 16:34
A song that comes to mind is "I will praise you" by Monica Dennington.
Here are some of the lyrics from the main chorus:
"So I will praise You in the morning,
I will praise You in the day,
I will praise You in the evening,
I will praise You!"
