“And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”
This Scripture can be very difficult to continually live out. With each passing day that goes by it is so easy for us to live for ourselves - for our flesh. We must realise that we cannot do this without Christ’s help.
Our flesh is wicked and its passions and desires are wicked. Without the Lord, we are sinful people. We must crucify our flesh in order that we can live a life pleasing to God.
We can only ever truly crucify our flesh when we are in Christ. In fact, we can only live out God's Word with His help.
You are not alone.
Jesus is always there to help you. He wants us to abide in Him, to take up our cross daily and follow Him (John 15:4).
“Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me” -Matthew 16:24
Living for God is shown in how we conduct ourselves. The way we dress, act, spend our time and the words we speak.
We should be glorifying God with our bodies.
“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” -1 Corinthians 6:19-20
There are many temptations that come but we must crucify our flesh and not let it take over.
Crucifying the flesh is a journey that is daily, however lasts for a lifetime. Hence, we must navigate through with our Lord's help.
Reader, I encourage you to pray and ask God to help you grow in areas of your life that require change so that you are living a life that's pleasing to the Lord.
