To those who are called, sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ:
Mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you. Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.
To be able to contend for the faith, we must know what the Bible teaches. If we truly know the truth, we will immediately recognise a lie when we hear it.
There are many who want to pull down the Word of God, heretics who pretend to know God and would lead many away with their great swelling words, turning the grace of our God into something it is not, denying the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.
We must realise that we are representatives of the Lord Jesus, we are called to imitate Him.
He is holy, just and good. His Holy Spirit dwells within every born-again believer.
If our actions don`t show that we are living a clean, moral life, then we are impostors.
We cannot profess to love Jesus and live as we please. We are His bond servants. We have been bought with a price, the precious blood of Jesus! Don`t abuse or misrepresent your calling to live holy as He is holy.
1 Peter 1:13-16
Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”
