Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
We are now free to do what we couldn't before we knew Jesus - to live an unselfish lifestyle.
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.
In Luke 7:47 God`s forgiveness is complete, and Jesus said that those who love much are forgiven much.
Because faith expresses itself through love, you can check your love for others as a way to monitor your faith.
And I, brethren, if I still preach circumcision, why do I still suffer persecution? Then the offense of the cross has ceased.
Persecution proved that Paul was preaching the true Gospel. If he had taught what the false teachers were teaching, no one would be offended.
God`s Word is truth, the truth offends those who live in sin. He was persecuted for preaching the truth by those who claimed to know the truth!
“If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
2 Timothy 3:12
Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbour as yourself.” But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another!
When believers lose the motivation of love, we become critical of others. We stop looking for good in them and see only their faults. Soon we lose our unity.
Love others as you love yourself.
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
Being led by the Holy Spirit involves the desire to hear, the readiness to obey God`s Word and the sensitivity to discern between your feelings and His promptings.
Live each day controlled and guided by the Holy Spirit.
Then the words of Jesus will be in your mind, the love of Jesus will be behind your actions and the power of Jesus will help you control your selfish desires.
